SELF PORTRAIT

****I believe that this picture encompasses who I am as a person. To the left of the picture we see my trophy that I'm tremendously proud of having and that's because I won 1st at my wrestling match. On top of the television we see a star because not only am I interested in space I act as a hobby and absolutely love every second of it that I took that star from my dressing room from High School and at the top of the piece of furniture my High School Diploma is up on display because it was one of the proudest days in my life. On the wall there are a bunch of pictures of my friends and family because I hold these people really close to my heart that I love seeing them. If you look closely you can see my mitosis project that I did in Biology my Freshman year in High School I was really proud of it because this was actually something that I spent a lot of time making. Near the pics you can also see a masquerade mask and that's because I got it in New Orleans when I was a kid and it also represents my love for travel. To the right there is a FOOTLOOSE poster and that's because I was in that musical where I got to play one of the supporting roles, and every time I look at that poster I think about my solo. I'm wearing my Greek Sweater and it has to be my favorite sweater of all time because this was the first set of letters that I ever received from my Big Bro, and it meant that I was finally a part of SIGMA ALPHA EPSILON and was done being a pledge. In my hand I hold my guitar because I absolutely love music, but when I'm bored or stressed I always play my guitar and somehow all my problems go away for a while. Finally at the bottom right corner I added where my family is from and that is Nicaragua I am very proud to be Nicaraguense and everything we do in our home revolves around our culture, and it has made me the person that I am today.****

PICTURE STORY: DOWNTOWN CESAR CHAVEZ PLAZA (LAZY SUNDAY!!!)

Across the street from the Cesar Chavez plaza there is a full shot of the San Jose Museum of Art

This is the entire band as they play their instruments having a good time as people walk by.
Closeup on the drum that a group of people were playing at.
Here we see the kids riding skateboards at the plaza.

This is the warning sign telling others not to skateboard and yet in the next picture we see kids riding their skateboards

Long shot of the Cesar Chavez Plaza where can see people walking on a nice sunny Sunday Afternoon

All of the pictures were taken downtown at Cesar Chavez Plaza
Extreme Closeup: This the warning sign that can be seen on the poles that surround the fountains downtown.

This lady even wanted to get in on the action and walk around the fountains.

The kids running in the fountains the girl almost slipped.
The parents watching their kids making sure they're ok.

Some kids playing in the fountains.

Here we see these kids running to cross the street because they want to play in the fountains.

Extreme Longshot just trying to get the buildings in the background of Downtown and trying to get all the fountains.

Extreme Closeup of the rules for playing in the fountains and some people are not following the rules.

****I believe all these pictures tell a story of people enjoying themselves on the first day of daylight savings. Its a Sunday afternoon and everyone is relaxing in this common area which is the Cesar Chavez plaza in Downtown. Most of the kids that were there that day were playing in the fountains and were having a good time. There was a jazz band and the onlookers stopped to give tips to them as they walked by. Outside, the sun was shining, and there was not a cloud in sight and was overall a relaxing day. It was nice for me as well because I had the chance to see how much fun people were having, and as a result I think I had a lot of fun compiling photos for the picture story****

ETHOS-LOGOS-PATHOS ADVERTISEMENTS

ETHOS- When I first saw this advertisement I really thought it was smart for the company to use a celebrity. In this advertisement they use the face and a direct quote from Matt Damon. For the most part people trust celebrities and he's no different you really believe and trusts what he has to say about the water and he might be using a little bit of pathos because there's a shot of some impoverished children, and makes you want to help by buying the product.

LOGOS- At first glance one might not see what the advertisement is about but after a second look I could tell that the people who made this ad were being very creative using sex to sell their beer. What I can get out of the ad is that basically that this type of beer is a man's drink and those who do well they might just be well-endowed in some way. This ad uses sex in a non-traditional way by arranging the bottles in a certain way.

PATHOS- I found a PETA because I know that sometimes their advertisements tend to be very graphic and people have a very strong reaction to this. This advertisement wasn't any different it was very hard to look at it because it seems so barbaric. If I even had the money to buy a fur coat (which I don't!), and saw this advertisement it would impede me from buying it. I just couldn't believe what I was seeing it wasn't logical it was just the feeling that I got from seeing the picture that of disgust and guilt. Disgust for the mere reason that I can't imagine anyone doing that to an animal, and guilt for the fact that if I were ever to wear fur I would feel bad about an animal dying so I could look more stylish.
